German magazine Autobild renders the 2018 BMW 6 Series Coupe. The fourth generation 6 Series is rumored to launch in 2018, seven years after the introduction of the F12 Convertible and F13 Coupe models.
Based on our knowledge of the BMW design process, the next 6 Series Coupe is most likely in the early design stages where internal teams of designers are competing at the sketching level. Eventually one team will win and their design idea will go into a full clay model.
Therefore it is really hard to predict what direction the new 6 Series will take, but one can assume that the current design cues will trickle into the new design, especially the new headlights that connect to the kidney grille. Thanks to the new OLED technology, we expect the future taillights and headlights to be slimmer and sleeker, and have a more elegant look.
The folks at Autobild speculate that the 2018 BMW 6 Series will lose about 250 kilograms from its belly, thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber.
For now, let’s have a look at this cool-looking render.
