I was looking through old articles here on BMW Blog, and I came across one that was from November of last year, doing a photo comparison of the BMW 135, the Porsche Cayman and the Nissan 350Z. All three cars are great in their own way, and all are very composed track cars, along with being very fast on the street. I have driven all of these cars except for the Porsche. I love the Z and I of course love the new 1-Series. Take a look at the video and decide for yourself.
Also included is the Fifth Gear test of the 135 versus the Cayman.
Feel free to weigh in with your own opinion of which car you would rather have or the one that you think is the best for your money by replying with a comment.

Hey Josh….next video, please loose the highlighter!!!! The clicking of the lid, ahhhh, ummmmm, is a bit distracting and makes you seem VERY nervous!!!
Otherwise, great video!!!
Cheers,
Hahaha I know… I watched the video this morning and was like OH MY GOD!!!
I have an analysis of OCD, so my mind is always working overtime. While I’m talking the rest of me gets bored. Sorry for the clicking noise. It was quite annoying to me too when I watched it.
Yes, great video Josh. Better and better each time.
BMW 135i Stick shifting or Automatic with SMG
Im thinking to buy a BMW 135i…………..but i still dont know if i should buy a stick shift manual or the BMW Automatic system SMG-like!!!!!!!!!
normaly im a fan of the manual - shifting!!!!!!!!!! but just a few days ago i drove the BMW M6 with SMG wich was a grade experience!!!!!!!! so i would like to know if its the same in the new BMW 135i………………
so please send me your ideas/knowledge/facts
thanks
Greg,
The auto-manual in the 135i is quite a bit different from the SMG transmission in the M3, M5 and the M6.
The SMG is a “Sequential Manual Gearbox” that runs similarly to a manual with no clutch pedal and paddles instead of a shifter (you can still use the shifter to shift though). The automated-manual in the regular BMW’s is simply an automatic with paddles attached to the gearbox.
With that said, the new 135i automatic shifts lightning quick, and responds very well to your actions. I would still prefer a manual over an automatic any day, but this automatic is without a doubt, one of the best in the world. You will love it!
