To celebrate 115 years of luxury, Rolls-Royce is creating a (RED) Phantom to be auctioned off for the Fight to End AIDS Charity. (RED) is the Fight to End AIDS charity and this special Rolls-Royce Phantom has been made specifically to be auctioned off for the famous charity.

The auction will be held by Sotheby’s and will begin on December 4, the same day that the (RED) Phantom will be unveiled at the One Thousand Museum in Miami. The auction will run until December 13 and the highest bidder will win the Roll-Royce Phantom, with all proceeds going to the (RED) foundation. Not only that but the winner of the bid will also get to collaborate on a custom wrap for the Rolls with world-renown contemporary artist Mickalene Thomas.

“It is an honor and privilege to present this one of a kind commission created at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England,” commented Martin Fritsches, President and CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Americas. “Every member of our team is deeply inspired by this world-class commission and equally by the importance of the cause that it was created to support – (RED)’s fight to end AIDS.  We are proud to partner with Mickalene Thomas, Sotheby’s and RM Sotheby’s to achieve an outstanding result from this auction.”

Jennifer Lotito, Chief Operating Officer of (RED), continued by saying, “We’re so grateful to Rolls-Royce for donating profits from the Red Phantom to help with the fight to end AIDS. We need all forces mobilized against this pandemic which is the leading cause of death among young women. We also want to thank Mickalene Thomas for her creative genius and support of this auction to help the Global Fund eradicate AIDS.”

“I am honored to collaborate with such an esteemed group of partners as (RED), Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Sotheby’s and RM Sotheby’s in the global fight to end AIDS. To be able to share my creative vision in a way that impacts such a noble cause feels powerful and inspiring to me and I am sure to the ultimate winning bidder who is coming together with these amazing organizations to change the world,” said Mickalene Thomas.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom (RED) is a stunning car on its own, before the custom wrap by Thomas. It’s painted in a stunning Crystal over Magma Red. Particles of crystal are actually inside the layers of paint, giving it a stunning luminescence. The paint features five coats, with each coat being hand-polished for five hours. It also gets wood veneers which have been given six coats of lacquer, all of which finished by hand.

It gets stunning Arctic White, drum-dyed leather with Mugello Red accents. It also gets the all-new, and positively stunning, shooting-star headliner, featuring 1,600 fiber-optic lights. This time, though, the lights in the headliner are red, which is quite wonderful looking, actually.

As with any Rolls-Royce Phantom, the Phantom (RED) is a stunning machine. Not only is the Phantom, Rolls‘ prettiest car but this specific one is absolutely lovely. Whoever wins this bid is not only getting a gorgeous new Phantom, with a new custom wrap from a fantastic artist, but will also be giving back to a fantastic worldwide charitable organization.
