XCAR UK test drives and reviews the new 2015 BMW X6.

The second generation F16 X6 just had its international media debut in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and more test drive reviews will be published in the next few weeks.

The new X6 comes with the following motor variants: X6 xDrive30d, xDrive40d, xDrive35i and xDrive50i. In Europe, an M50d with a tri-turbo engine is offered as well.

For the U.S. market, BMW will offer the X6 with the sDrive35i(rear-wheel drive), xDrive35i and xDrive50i configuration. The 2015 BMW X6 sDrive35i and X6 xDrive35i are equipped with the 300-horsepower 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine.

The V8-powered X6 xDrive50i gets improved performance for the new model year. The 4.4-liter V8 engine churns out 445 hp, a boost of 50 hp.

The model reviewed here is the X6 M50d powered by a tri-turbo 3-liter inline 6-cylinder engine making 381 horsepower and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque.
