The new BMW i8 is sold out at most of the dealerships around the country and those few ones waiting quietly on the showroom floors come with a hefty price. Some reports put the price of the i8 as high as $250,000, a hefty premium considering the $136,625.
But for those with deep pockets, the BMW i8 brings a unique proposition: owning a car that very, very few will drive on the road. With its futuristic looks, the i8 is certainly a looker and a head-turner, and it can certainly go head-to-head with the likes of Ferrari or Lamborghini – strictly from a design perspective.

To show the car in all its glory and under the rain, the dealership employed a photographer to spend some time with hybrid sportscar. BMW i8 uses a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a turbocharged three-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine and BMW eDrive technology in the form of an electric drive system. The 1.5-liter combustion engine develops 170 kW/231 hp and drives the rear wheels of the BMW i8, while the 96 kW/131 hp electric drive sends its power to the front wheels and allows an all-electric range of up to 35 kilometers (22 miles) and a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph).
