The new BMW M5 goes to the BMW Performance Center in South Carolina for a few quick hot laps. Behind the wheel is Mike Renner, BMW Performance Driving Instructor, who has plenty of experience with the M5 after his recent stint at the 2012 One Lap of America.

Before jumping into the video, here is a quick recap of the power found in the new M5. The super sporty sedan is powered by a TwinPower turbocharged V8. The high-revving 4.4-liter (4395cc) turbocharged uses the BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology, twin-scroll turbochargers, high-precision direct fuel injection, VALVETRONIC variable valve control and a cross-bank exhaust manifold.

The engine outputs 560 horsepower from 5,750-7,000 rpm and 680Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque from only 1500rpm.
