One of the first BMW M Automobiles, BMW M550d xDrive Touring, makes an appearance at the 2012 Leipzig Auto Show.

The M-tuned touring diesel are powered by an all-new tri-turbo engine that develops 381 horsepower and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque. The M550d Touring offers fuel economy figures of 6.4 liters per 100 kilometers in the EU test cycle. CO2 emissions are 169 g/km for the BMW M550d xDrive Touring.

Along with the power upgrade, the M550d takes advantage of M-tuned technology: suspension, bodyshell mounting, engine and transmission mounting, springs and dampers.

Inside, BMW included plenty of M design elements, such as the gearshift lever with M logo, Alcantara/Cloth in Grey Shadow with contrast stitching and embossed M logo. An M leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles is part of the super sporty package as well.

BMW M550d xDrive is available for European customers and according to the company, there are no plans to bring the M-tuned diesel to the U.S.
