VF620 Supercharged E90 M3 in Matte Estoril Blue

Our friends and sponsors at European Auto Source are sharing with us their latest project. Dubbed VF620 Supercharged, the tuned up M3 Sedan comes with a special paint: Matte Estoril Blue. The M3 Sedan comes equipped with the VF620 Supercharger System with a Vortech V3Si Compressor and 6.0-7.0psi manifold boost pressure that brings the total power output to 700 horsepower.

The car will make its way to the annual M Fest that takes place from April 20-22 in the beautiful Las Vegas.

    that dyno chart shows 509hp at the wheels.  That’s more like 600hp, not 700hp.

       If a drivetrain loss is on a stock machine about 50HP then it is the same 50HP all the time. Drivetrain loss does go higher or lower with an engine output. Some company does a baseline test and determine that drive train loss is 50hp or 18% of the total. Then they tune the car and produce more HP at the wheel and then add 18% to that to get the crank HP numbers. Wrong. The same HP should be added and nothing more.
      if I need X amount of HP to turn a wheel and loose Y on the drivetrain, it does not matter how many HP I apply it will be always the Y as constant what I loose.   Well actually not a constant, as the tire slippage is increasing as the speed goes up but the speed should remain the same or very similar, as we are not measuring speed but torque which we translate back to HP.  Hp can not be measured, only torque !

      soooo  if this car was making 590HP at the wheel, then the real HP ratings is about 640-650HP at the crank which is what car manufacturers publish.

      a stock M3 does 414HP at the crank and around 360 at the wheel, so 54HP loss, add that to the 590+54=644HP.   which is way more then enough !!!
