BMW has officially unveiled today the M-Sport Package for the new BMW 5 Series Sedan and Touring.

Press Release: The M Sports Package for the new BMW 5 Series Saloon and for the new BMW 5 Series Touring will be presented simultaneously in September 2010. The package, which was developed by the BMW M GmbH, comprises components that have been specifically adapted to match the suspension, the aerodynamics, and the exterior and interior design of each model.

The M sports suspension, M aerodynamics package and 18-inch M light alloys featuring a double spoke design contribute towards enhanced driving dynamics and an exceptionally powerful appearance. Moreover, optionally available features include 19-inch M light alloys as well as an M rear spoiler for the saloon.

Sports seats featuring Alcantara / fabric upholstery especially developed for the M Sports Package give the interior a particularly sporting ambience. The upholstery’s exclusive character is underlined by high-grade materials, contrasting seams and the M emblem applied to the seat.

Further interior features included in the M Sports Package comprise, inter alia, an M leather-clad steering wheel, an M gear lever knob, the M footrest, an anthracite BMW Individual roof lining and M aluminium hexagon interior trim strips.

shame the car itself isnt that sporty but another toned down bmw….bmw now reminds me of how audi used to try to pass theyr cars as “sporty”

    • Robby says:

The e60 is the ugliest 5 series.. no.. the ugliest BMW.. no.. it’s the ugliest vehicle during the same period.. Hands down…

  2. Laszlo says:

I dunno, I love this shape/car 100 times better then anything that came out of bangle’s hand. its solid and elegant , almost classical shape, yet modern.

This is what BMW ALWAYS WAS. They were never on the radical styling, they stuck with what they called sure bet. It worked for them for long, I think it will work now too.
The radical shape ages too fast and looks weird on a 4 door sedans.
The E60 is the worst looking 5 series ever. always was always will be. bangle design was/is a dead end and a detour on BMW’s history. A nice elegant shapes are coming back. Finally.

    • Lariv says:

It’s definitely elegant but it could be a lot sportier, the standard car should look like this.

    • Adam says:

You think the E60 was the worst looking 5 series? I completely disagree. I think the E60 was easily the best looking and I think it looks better than the 2011 5 series.

I can’t say I’m too crazy about the lower trim piece on the rear of the car around the tail pipes….. it looks cheap to me. I’ve seen some other pictures of this package on a white car (link below), and it looks really dorkey!

Still looks dead boring. the 5 GT is much better looking.

  9. 100$ GUY says:

Some people are disliking the rear end, thats their main grief.

  10. viper says:

    horrible

  11. zoocrew says:

535d? has anybody some details ?

  12. John says:

Looks lovely, the lines on the bonnet and the wings (which remind me a little of the 3 coupe).

This website (http://www.planestrainsautomobiles.co.uk/automobiles/bmw-m-sport-on-5-series-arrives-in-september) is stating prices at £35k for the petrol, which seems incredibly reasonable but also the same C02 for both diesel engines. you know know it any of this information is correct?
