The point is obvious: this car has bigger trunk capacity than 5GT, it’s more functional than hatchback eighter, it’s cheaper and will be avaible with smaller engines which are really popular in Europe and as far as I know touring is selling mainly in Europe. And 5GT seems to me to be much bigger car than 5T.

I like the design, but where is the innovation?

Take away the new head and tale lights, and you come up with the 5 touring of 2 generations back.

I imagine trying to put a dog or family weekender luggage in a GT the difference would become obvious. Similarly, at least as BMW will have us believe, the touring is too utilitarian for the executive who wishes to impress their passengers with a roomier interior and increased back seat luxury. I can see that maybe the GT is a niche too far, maybe, but the 5 touring is just a very good saloon with increased practicality. Which cannot be a bad thing.

5er Touring is sportier and looks better than 5GT.
in Europe 5GT has a target like 7er, 5er Touring will send more.
