The friends at MotorAuthority reported yesterday that the BMW Z4 will cease production next month. Before we published the news, we took a moment to confirm the information with our sources. And, YES, indeed, BMW decided to put an end to the Z4 model starting in August.
This is a clear sign that the new 2009 BMW Z4 is just around the corner and it is just a matter of time until we will get rid of the ridiculous camouflage.
This is also a BMW strategic move since the german automaker will need to make room for the next generation BMW X3 that will move its production from Germany to Spartanburg, SC. We already learned in the past that the new 2009 BMW Z4 will be built in Regensburg, Germany.

1The moving of the Z4 production lines to Regensburg will likely delight the many people in the US who have always wanted to do a European Delivery of the model…..

2I’m not so sure it is a clear indication of the replacement right around the corner. I think it probably had more to do with the fact that they can barely move 1000 a month.

3@Hantra: That also. But the Z4 should be available within the next 6 months and they also need to make room for the upcoming increased X6 production and the X3 moving to the U.S
