Auto Trader released a series of videos comparing the BMW 2 Series Coupe to the Audi A3 Sedan and Mercedes-Benz CLA.

Mark Howlett is in need of a fresh and trendy compact car and decided to ask Auto Trader what would be the most suitable car for a for a senior digital designer looking to pay anything between 25,000 to 30,000 British Pounds for an executive vehicle.

The sportiest of the trio is without any doubt the BMW 2 Series Coupe with its rear-wheel drive layout and even though it’s the least powerful, the Bavarian model is probably the best driver’s car thanks to the adaptive M suspension with electronically controllable dampers.

Up next is the Mercedes-Benz CLA, basically a sedan version of the A-Class and more practical than the BMW thanks to the rear doors. However, Mark says that compared to the 2-Series it feels like an old man’s car while driving it.

Lastly, the 2014 Audi A3 Sedan is the most spacious of the bunch and comes with a spare tire unavailable for the other two. Mark says the interior is very plain and he doesn’t like the seats either while the dashboard is a bit plasticky. He did appreciate how the 2014 A3 Sedan feels while driving, highlighting the steering and the gear changes.
