BMW 5-SERIES GT LOOKS SO SEXY FROM REAR THAT I DON’T HAVE A WORD TO DESCRIBE IT !! & THE FRONT LOOKS VERY VERY……. AGGRESIVE .INFACT I LIKE THE SHOULDER LINE WHICH STARTS FROM HEADLIGHT & AT THE END MEETS THE TAIL-LIGHT .ALSO THE INTERIOR HAS VERY UPMARKET FEEL .

It would be nice if the rear seats folded down in a more compact way. That’s going to cramp some progressive activities (wink wink wink). Seriously, it needs to fold flat.

Those are spectacular pictures. Horatiu, do you know where they were taken and anything about that funky white sculpture in the background?

Nothing wrong really and truth is that they are not identical..they share some common things, but still different a bit….I kinda dig these new interiors and I wish my 3er would have something close to that.

I guess this car looks good, because it has that concept CS roofline, only difference is that BMW raised the car, rather then making it sleek.

But will it actually cost 70k USD for the V8 ?

Coudnt agree more with you viper…its a shame bmw is going back to the same sausage different lenghts design. Even the exterior looks to close to the 7 and even the X1

Yeah, I know, it took me a few extra days, but I wanted to make sure I cover all the angles.

It will slot above the 5, but below the 7. In the U.S., the base price will be set between 65k-70k. I can’t tell if it rides better than the 7 since we didn’t drive it and the ride were fairly short, spent only about 15 minutes on the track and also, the cars weren’t production ready yet, so some adjustments will be made.
If I were to give my first impression, I would say that the ride is similar to the 7, smooth, elegant, but yet powerful when needed.

No, the 3 GT will be built on the new modular 3 Series platform.

First: Once again, a great and informative article, covering every aspect of importance. Second: It was about time :)

Questions: So, this 5 GT rides on a seven series platform. Where does it slot in with the BMW hierachy? Is it above the seven? Pricewise? Would you say it rides better than the seven? (More refined?)

Also, could the 3 GT be build on the upcoming 5 series platform?

Looks great but personally I find the rear of the car to be really ugly. Here’s hoping the new 5 touring looks receives the same interior styling.

On another note, you really need to have someone proof read your articles.;)
