I purchased the $ 2,400 plan for my 330 CI. Not a sole at the dealership has been able to tell me what is covered. During each repair, the answer is always "well we don't think that is covered". I have asked four times now for a list of the items covered since the items I was told was covered. NO one seems to know. Any suggestions

the maintenance program is totally a joke or scam. It cover oil change and front wipper only.
My X5 still under 6 years warranty. My local dealer in alhambra want to charge me $145 for break inspection, $320 for repairing a dead break light (I paid $10 to a roadside garage, they resolved the problem in 1 minute). BMW dealer do not provide tire rotate service unless you pay them extra money and they keep pushing me replace all four tires for more than $1600 even my X5 has only 20000 miles.
DO NOT PURCHASE ANY EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM BMW.

At BMWUSA.com, the cost of this extended maintenance program is $2,095 for 328i coupe. However, my local dealer will charge me $2,680 to purchase the extended maintenance program for a 2007 Certified Pre-Owned 328i coupe.

Can the dealer charge more than what is shown at BMWUSA.com?

This isn't that new. If you were an original Owner , you could if you knew who to contact extend your original through the OOP program so long as you got it in before the factory warranty expired but it is "new" that they are offering it as a purchase option on a new unit.

Greatest cars in the world. There's nothing in this world that's manufactured better than a BMW. Still have my 3 and it'll never leave my driveway. Drives the Exact same way it did the day I picked it up brand new. Picking up either a X5 or X6 in a month or so and will keep that one FOREVER as well.

In Mexico now the charge u the same for this service than what they charge u when it was only for 4 years, now is for 5 year or 100k km that will be about 62 k miles i think

@wmb: I was wondering the same thing at first. This is not really "new", or better to say, the extended maintenance program itself is not new in America. I guess the ability to add it to your existing maintenance plan for those that bought their cars within the last few years is new. I bought my 1er last July and I also bought the extended vehicle maintenance. Cost was around 1200-1300 dollars extra IIRC...I feel it will be worth it.

So if your driving style keeps the typical RPMs at 5000-7000, and you ride the clutch, brake heavily, and drive on horrible pitted roads, you're putting much more wear on the car than somebody else. How does the warranty account for "rougher" use?

Here in South Africa, we've always had 5 years, 100 000km free maintenance -I think for almost a decade. I assumed it was a world wide thing. Most other car companies in SA followed BMW lead, but still no one is as good.

I is a very good thing for resale value. Now with 6 years, you can sell your car after 3 years, with another 3 years free maintanence left. After 6 years of BMW maintanence, the used car would still be in a very sound condition, improving trade in value. It's an all win situation.

I'm failing to see what's new here.

I thought this program always existed?

I guess the news here is that "that *all* BMW models are now eligible for purchase of a Maintenance Program Upgrade"

Wasn't the 06' E60 M5 excluded from this list (probably due to SMG repair costs)? Any other cars anyone know of that couldn't be upgraded prior to this?

I noticed that the other day when I was doing the build-yourself 5 series wagon, they snuck that in the options list. I would totally get it.
