With all the talk about the 135i coupe, the BMW 123d has been somehow overlooked, or at least not so much in the center of attention.
The diesel engine in the BMw 123d benefits from BMW's Efficient Dynamics program (Stop/Start, brake regeneration, active aero, etc). In addition to being rated at over 44 mpg (US) in the combined cycle, the 123d is gutsy. Its twin-turbocharged 1998cc diesel four-cylinder makes 204 horses — that's over 100 hp/liter. The run to sixty takes 7 seconds and it tops out at 148 mph.
On top of this satisfying performance, the 123d looks very similar to its older "brother", the 135i. It doesn't come with a M-sport package and the options are a little different but as far as exterior colors, they will have the same choices.
In these photos, you will see the 123d in a Monetgo Blue exterior which is already predicted to become the most popular color on the BMW 1-series.
