Among the big BMW debuts this year at the Geneva Motor Show, the new F30 BMW 3 Series xDrive almost went unnoticed. The xDrive version of the refreshed 3 Series will be available this fall and in the U.S. will come in two variants: BMW 328i xDrive and 335i xDrive.
The model showcased at BMW exhibit is the 320d xDrive which shares the same engine as the EfficientDynamics edition model: a 2.0 liter commonrail DI variable geometry turbocharged lump, but with different power output – the ED Edition has 163 hp, while the 320d produces 184 hp, both at a similar 4,000 rpm. The total torque numbers are rated at 380 Nm @ 1,750-2,750 rpm.
In previous driving tests, the BMW 32d0 was rated at 5.4 liter/100 km, so expect a similar figure for the slightly heavier xDrive variant.

The photographer is actually a woman…and article says ”by Horatiu Boeriu”, strange :D
One takes photos, the other writes. Nothing new about how we operate.
Elegant color combination. The new 3 seems well received by customers and the press.Â
Confused? Â Does this article say a Series 3 Diesel X-Drive will or will not be sold in the USA?
BMW Please Please bring this car to North America
Please bring the 320d XDrive to the US market. Â Big mistake stopping the production of the 335d in the US. Â Offering a more efficient and all-wheel drive variant will be a huge success here. Americans are dying for an efficient car with torque and power. Â I own the X5 35d and love it. Â
I don’t know it i am allowed to post links on this site but i read this and it said that a 330d might be coming to North America
“The best news by far, however, was the news of the diesel. YES, a diesel
is coming. It will not be a 35, but rather a 30. He indicated it would
be based off the N47 engine- approximately 2 litres and will come in as a
330d- placed between the 28 and the 35. Given this information, I’m
speculating a triple, or at least twin turbo 4 with somewhere from
225-260 hp and 375-450 ft-lbs of torque. He indicated that mated to the 8
speed auto, it would be pushing 50 MPGs!!!! At this point all the
negatives almost went completely out the window, because this news is
awesome. ”
