Here are some behind the scenes photos of a photoshoot featuring the new 2014 BMW X5.

The new X5 builds atop the current model and has some design cues from the X3. The Air Curtains make a debut on the X models with the new X5, along with the Air Breathers on the side. For the first time BMW introduces Vertical Aero Blades that work in conjunction with the roof spoiler.

Visually, the new F15 BMW X5, has a more squared off shape with broad shoulders and up-right body compared to the rounded flowing look of the second generation X5. The kidney grilles are much broader and no longer is there any painted surface of the X5 between the headlights and grill. It’s a solid flowing line of glass and grille.

lovely details but the cars size ruined the classic x5 proportions. and with eps and waterdowned driving dynamics – classic in every new bmw – this car is now a perfect rival to the Q7 – huge boat!

Thank goodness it lost weight. I’d love to see what the X5 could weigh if it had the first gen dimensions.

Well said, I just hope execs at BMW wake up one day and go back to roots.

Great post! Good information with the specs. I feel like the new X5 is going to be better then the outgoing model. Looks a little bit better plus still they maintained the size and hopefully they keep its power so that it can move on the road like it did on the out going model. Keep up the good work on the posts!
