Memory of a single cylinder Rotax 650 is in, strange name, and Aprilia Pegaso FS650 and probably some other bikes. BMW has worked for decades to develop their boxer nth degree, and their four cylinders efforts have been rather poor so far as regards the Japanese. I would go against the trend and I can not stand the looks, bruised and derivatives, although the triple exhaust looks cool (can be a 6-exhaust, can not see there are still 3 on the right side). I agree but it’s a fantastic effort to make such a compact 6, and would not it be great to see him in a mini Z4 or less.

Bravo to yet another BMW tour de force!

What in incredible machine! It is stunning, the aero makes me drool. So does the cafe racer styling, my favorite of classic looks. Above all, the technology makes my heart race – they are right – this bike creates a huge emotional connection. I really want to reach out and touch it.

From what I gather, the engine features a very long stroke to bore ratio, therefore accounting for the extra displacement and reduced cylinder width. Hence the very torquey nature. I suppose 9K on the tach is high revving for such a design. I’m a little disappointed on the power figure though, you would think a 1.6L I-6 could produce more. Maybe they have released figures closer to what will be found on the touring model, and the sports K will be tweaked to rev higher with more output.

I wonder what it weighs?
