  • Wooo hoo.

    $50K for a F*(&king 1er?!?!?!? No thank you!

PRICING DIFFERS in each country. an M3 cost well over 100k usd in HongKong so assume the Jap market is same. US prices are generally the lower as the competition is stronger and market volume is high.

they’re still quite lucky. FYI, a 320i with no option is 60k here in Vietnam :((

      • FreudeKing

No, US is lower becasue of no/lower taxes. In Hong Kong, new car reg tax is 35%. In China, imports are 100% on certain cars. So consider US residents lucky.

You are also right, more competition, etc. and also the fact that US residents do not take BS. If you unreasonable bump up the price to rip people off, you will be abandoned.

        • IvanJai

400% for some middle east countries.

this is a car the us needs. of course the pricing would have to be adjusted, and at around 35,000 it would sell well. a good 4 cylinder engine, a 6spd manual (or the dct) and sport package, light weight, simple and very few options. Sort of like a club racing or enthusiast package version.

Weight must be kept low in order for this to be effective. No need for a 6 cylinder, its more fun to drive a slow car fast then a fast car slow.

    • adc

A car like that would be hard to sell for $25,000, let alone $35,000. $25k buys you a nice GTI.

      • FreudeKing

Well there’s the premium you have to pay to get something premium, not some GTI/Audi trash

      • Laszlo

135i is selling well for 40large. and thats a basic car with no sport package, no fancy wheels, nothing extra. 25k buys you nothing in BMW world.
well in Europe it might does, a 116i with no a/c and cloth seat and 16″ wheels.

      • M5POWER

In Malaysia, every single BMW costs you more than MYR160k… Even the simplest 120i hatchback with no M-Sport package, all round costs MYR180K but it still sells well. Below that? Pretty much all used E34 525i and such… You want to live in the BMW world, comes big prices.

What is unlimited – it certainly isn’t HP!
