The BMW M2 CS is a highly anticipated car and we’ve been covering it from all angles. Therefore, there is very little known about the M2 CS so far. So armed with all the latest info, the folks at Auto Bild put together a rendering of the car.
On the outside the BMW M2 CS will follow the same recipe applied to the M3 CS and M4 CS. What that means is that it will roughly look identical to the M2 with a couple of carbon fiber add-ons for good measure. Up front we’ll get a carbon fiber air splitter attached to the underside of the bumper. The roof will be made of carbon fiber as well while the trunk will feature a spoiler made of the same material.
On the sides you’ll notice a new set of wheels while behind those rims you could spot gold calipers as the M2 CS can be fitted with carbon ceramic brakes as an option.
Under the hood, the S55 engine of the M2 CS will be the same used on the M3 and M4 Competition models. That means 450 HP and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque will be squeezed out of it. As for the gearbox, a manual 6-speed will be the standard choice while the 7-speed DCT unit will be optional.
The M2 CS will enter production March 2020 and will be unveiled this November at the Los Angeles Motor Show. Deliveries will kick off in Spring 2020 and prices are yet unknown. Don’t expect it to be cheap though as production will be limited to a couple thousand units. In Europe, prices won’t be under 75,000 Euros, as Auto Bild claims.
