Alpina unveiled a special edition of the B4 S Biturbo model dubbed EDITION 99 at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, meant to enhance the already brilliant model they developed on the chassis of the BMW 4 Series Coupe and Convertible. Just like the standard B4 S Biturbo, the Edition 99 is offered in both Coupe and Convertible guise and the Buchloe-based manufacturer just announced the customer preferences in purchasing.
According to them, out of the 99 models scheduled for manufacturing, 65 are Coupes while 34 are Convertibles. One-fifth of the EDITION 99 production is destined to go on a long sea voyage to Japan, with some going to England and Switzerland while the majority will actually remain with German customers. Almost half of the edition models were ordered in the special “Grigio Medio” paintwork, followed by “Fire Orange” and “ALPINA Blue”.
With regards to the exclusive interior trim options there is also a clear favorite namely ALPINA piano lacquer with EDITION 99 lettering followed closely by the popular Alcantara trim. The manufacturer/tuner claims the production is now at full throttle as emphasized by the photos posted on their website and also in the gallery below.
As for the performance specs, the EDITION 99 model are even more powerful than the B4 S Biturbo they are based on. The 3-liter straight six engine under the hood develops 452 HP and a whopping 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the all-wheel drive system, the Coupe will do 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds while the rear-wheel drive Coupe will do the same sprint in 4.2 seconds. Go for the Convertible and you’ll reach the benchmark speed in 4.3 seconds. If it all sounds tempting, you’re in bad luck, as all EDITION 99 models have been accounted for already.
