The all-new BMW 8 Series had its world premiere last month, replacing the current 6 Series family. Yet, many BMW fans are still in love with the design and the proportions of the 6er and especially the four-door coupe. And with the introduction of the 8 Series, the price drop that’s always a dear friend of older generation models makes them an appealing combination for financially constrained buyers who want something luxurious.
This particular Alpine White BMW 640i Gran Coupe comes courtesy of HRE Wheels. The vehicle features a set of their custom-made aftermarket wheels. In turn, this gorgeous looking Gran Coupe received that subtle update that makes its exterior appeal relevant as the first day it was introduced to the market. The BMW 640i is located just a few steps below the highly touted M6. In turn, the 640i represents a perfect blend of performance, fuel economy, appearance and price, all in one vehicle.
The vehicle is powered by a highly-potent 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine delivering 315 horsepower and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. The engine combines a twin-scroll turbocharger with variable valve control (Double-VANOS and Valvetronic) and high-precision direct injection, accounting for smooth power delivery and a bland of performance and unbridled fuel economy levels. The 640i Gran Coupe can do the 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 5.4 seconds and accelerate all the way to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph (250km/h).
For this particular Gran Coupe, HRE Wheels machined a set of their HRE S101 forged wheels. Sized 20×9 in the front and 20×10 in the rear, these wheels fill out those large wheel arches perfectly. But, for the most part, the Gloss Gold finish is what gives both these wheels and the vehicle that impressive exterior appeal. Check out the complete media gallery of this build right below.
