Miami-based Vossen Wheels has been putting out interesting builds for years. Recently, the company ventured from cast only wheels to the forged wheel market. This allowed owners who demand more from their wheel setup a great new choice for their wheels.
Vossen’s latest project is a clean BMW i8. Featuring a set of their VPS-301 forged wheels, the vehicle is lowered and sportier than in standard form. The wheels are installed in sizes of 22×9 and 22×10.5 in the rear. The wheels feature an iElectric Blue finish, complementing the exterior paint finish and detailed touches of the vehicle perfectly. The lowering done is just right, adding a great stance, but not hindering daily driving usability.
The project comes from Vossen Wheels in Hungary, giving us a great taste of the BMW i8 scene in Eastern Europe. The BMW i8, with its sporty design, futuristic lines and above all, impressive performance, may be considered one of the hottest vehicles available on the market today. The hybrid sportscar is powered by a combination of a 1.5 liter three-cylinder petrol engine and electric motors, powering all four wheels, on request.
The combustion engine develops 170 kW/231 hp and drives the rear wheels of the BMW i8. Furthermore, there is a 96 kW/131 hp electric drive as well, which sends its power to the front wheels and allows an all-electric range of up to 35 kilometers (22 miles) and a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph). The i8 will accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.2 seconds.
