The 2016 Rio Olympics are currently underway. Despite the robberies, pool water turning green and athletes staying in basically upscale favelas, the Rio Olympics have been pretty thrilling. Michael Phelps is the most decorated Olympian in the ancient sport’s history and Usain Bolt is still the fastest man alive.
Speaking of Usain Bolt, the Jamaican sprinter is also a big car enthusiasts. Bolt has owned (and crashed) several of the world’s fastest and most high-end sports cars in the world. Many of the cars in his collection were gifted to him by his sponsors. One of those cars in the past was a BMW 335i. Bolt’s specific 335i was highly tuned and modified. And, if you’re a fan of Bolt, as well as flashy cars, then you’re in for a treat because that same modified 335i is up for sale right now.
Admittedly, the 2010 BMW 335i was actually purchased from Bolt in 2014, so whoever buys it won’t be buying it directly from the Olympian. However, it still was Bolt’s car, as evident by the “UB” on the headrests and the custom 19.19 badge on the back to signify the 19.19 second 200 meter world record set by Bolt. Those initials aren’t the only modifications one, though. Power has been bumped up by 20 hp and 17 lb-ft of torque. It’s also been lowered and sits on black 19″ wheels.
But the biggest, and most noticeable, modification is the 335i’s doors. They’re actually a bit like the swan doors of a McLaren and not really the gullwing sort that the ad claims. But that doesn’t make them any less dramatic. This car is going to make a statement, whether it be the crazy doors or bright red interior with Usain Bolt touches here and there.
Now, many BMW fans prefer a more calm and reserved look, so this sort of car isn’t for everyone. But it does have quite a lot of star power attached to it. While this BMW 335i isn’t the fastest car in the world, it was owned by the fastest man alive. So it’s got that going for it.
