It seems that the owner of this BMW i8 thought its exciting, futuristic and aggressive design simply wasn’t enough for his taste. The decision was made. His vehicle is to get an interesting aftermarket treatment that will improve the car’s exterior visual appeal. On to the mods it is!
Showcasing a Matte Red wrap and Vossen Wheels, this i8 certainly looks interesting – to say the least. The eccentric looks given to the hybrid performer from the Bavarian car maker will certainly raise some eyebrows. But it will also garner a lot of attention for its owner, anywhere they go. The Vossen Wheels installed are the VPS-305’s featuring a directional design, lightweight construction and a Golden Finish. Quite an unusual combination, but it works seemingly well on this build.
No power upgrades were put in place for this project. The i8 runs on the stock hybrid system consisting of a turbocharged three-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine and BMW eDrive technology in the form of an electric drive system. The 1.5-liter combustion engine develops 170 kW (231 hp) and drives the rear wheels of the BMW i8, while the 96 kW (131 hp) electric drive sends its power to the front wheels and allows an all-electric range of up to 35 kilometers (22 miles) and a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph).
The powertrain allows the BMW i8 to sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in in 4.8 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 26 km/h (160 mph). Full build photoshoot is available down below.
