Getting a BMW i8 to stand out isn’t really difficult job – the hybrid sports car is one of the best looking cars on the market exerting a futuristic and interesting design. Improving on that however might pose a challenge, yet the first step in that journey almost always starts with a new set of wheels.
The BMW i8 seen here comes with a set of Vossen LC-104 wheels. Measuring 22×9 up front and 22×10.5 in the rear, the new Vossen Forged LC Series LC-104 wheels are fully polished with a clear powder coat, creating a very stark contrast against the sleek, matte black body lines. The LC-104s are machined, polished and powder coated entirely in-house at the Vossen TUV Verified factory located in Miami, Florida.
The i8 comes powered by a plug-in hybrid system that allows the vehicle some breathtaking performance. The BMW i8 uses a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a turbocharged three-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine combined with the BMW eDrive technology in the form of an electric drive system.
The 1.5-liter combustion engine develops 170 kW/231 hp and drives the rear wheels of the BMW i8. The electric driver develops 96 kW/131 hp and it sends its power to the front wheels and allows an all-electric range of up to 35 kilometers (22 miles) and a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph).
