Enhancing the futuristic design lines and looks of the hybrid sports like the BMW i8 is not an easy task. But thanks to a set of custom wheels, this BMW i8 made its first step in the right direction. This build was completed by ADV.1 Wheels and it features a set of ADV05C Track Spec CS wheels.
The wheels seen here come in sizes of 22×9 and 22×10.5 in the front and rear, respectively. The wheels are finished in a finish combination featuring a Matte Black face and Liquid Smoke and Matte Black lips. They fill the wheel wells of the i8 quite well enhancing the stance and driving dynamics.
The BMW i8 uses a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a turbocharged three-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine and BMW eDrive technology in the form of an electric drive system. The 1.5-liter combustion engine develops 170 kW/231 hp and drives the rear wheels of the BMW i8, while the 96 kW/131 hp electric drive sends its power to the front wheels and allows an all-electric range of up to 35 kilometers (22 miles) and a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph).
The powertrain allows the BMW i8 to sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in in 4.8 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 260 km/h (160 mph).
More details of this aftermarket wheel setup are available in the photoshoot below.
Wow, those are really stupid looking wheels.
Great looking wheels, but far too big.
