At the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, BMW will debut the new 2 Series Gran Tourer and today we have a new rendering of the seven seater front-wheel drive BMW.
BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer F46 is based upon the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer F45, on the flexible UKL architecture for front wheel drive vehicles. Especially at the front, the two vans are visually very close together but thanks to a longer wheelbase and less sloping roof line, the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer offers much more space in the rear.
So much more that on request a third row of seats can be installed. If the seats are not needed, they can be folded to save space.
Engines and transmissions will be shared with his little brother, so expect a combination of three-and four-cylinder engines. Remains to be seen whether the family van will also be offered as a plug-in hybrid.
The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer will be offered in Europe this fall.
