When IND purchased their BMW F10 M5, their goal was simple. They wanted to make it a test bed for their aero and performance additions. After it was dropped off at AMS Performance over two years ago, the F10 M5’s S63TU engine has finally been unlocked by the company and real work was about to begin! Unlocking the M5 engine is a quite complicated and time consuming job, so being able to crack the code and offer the M5 community an ECU flash tune is an impressive task.

IND understands that unlocking the car’s engine control is only half of the picture – after learning to effectively communicate with the ECU, any tuner must also understand how to properly modify the engine’s behavior and look at all engine components from a complete system perspective. Changing one aspect of the engine’s behavior will impact all of the other parameters as well. This means fine tuning each section is a must.
One alternative would have been a piggy-back solution, but as some of you might know, piggy backing a controller can never completely take over the system. Therefore, an unlocked ECU, which allows the tuner to perfectly adjust every possible aspect of engine’s work, performance and output, is the best choice.
AMS Performance has finally released an Alpha tune for the F10 M5, and as expected the first M5 to be tuned by AMS has yielded incredible results.
