A Rolls Royce Wraith, probably one of the most luxurious cars on the market today, has now been further customized by SPOFEC. The high-performance luxury coupe is powered by a V12 engine developing 632 horsepower and is built on the same platform as the Rolls Royce Ghost.
Luxury runs deep within this excellent piece of British design and engineering, but the guys at SPOFEC thought its exterior and performance needed some modding. Usually reserved for sports cars and supercars, the upgrades to body panels and wheels certainly give the luxurious Wraith a nice touch. But, is this over the top?
For those that are not familiar with this company for now, SPOFEC is an acronym of Spirit of Ecstasy. It seems their core beliefs are refining luxury automotive models with prestigious aero and performance upgrades.
This RR Wraith received a set of high-performance brakes and it was lowered to make room for the brand new 22 inch wheels. The V12 was re-tuned, giving the car a power output of 717 horsepower, quite an increase over the stock power. With the power upgrade, sprints from 0 – 100 km/h come in just 4.2 seconds. The top speed remains electronically limited to 250 km/h.
The SPOFEC carbon-ceramic high-performance braking system installed comes with a set of vented discs measuring 405 x 30 and 395 x 38 millimeters respectively, offering a total weight saving of 38 kilograms over the standard brakes. It also allows for better braking performance and less brake fade in high-performance driving.
All the aero parts are manufactured from high-grade carbon fiber, all designed and engineered to achieve a perfect fit as well as a flawless surface. The body panels are designed to improve upon the aggressive look of the luxury coupe. This means they both augment the visual aesthetics while also providing improved aerodynamic and better cooling for certain components.
The SPOFEC SP1 wheels are tailor-made just for this vehicle. Their unusual styling with ten double spokes offset in two planes is particularly striking in the black version with polished surfaces.
Pirelli supplies the perfect high-performance tires in sizes 265/35 ZR 22 and 295/30 ZR 22. Like all SPOFEC components, this tire/wheel combination is independently safety-certified. SPOFEC suspension specialists developed a special control module for the air suspension that lowers the ride height of the two-door car by about 40 millimeters at speeds below 140 km/h. At higher speeds the body automatically reverts to its original level.
Further, a SPOFEC stainless-steel sports exhaust systems has been added for the Rolls-Royce Wraith. Up to five kilograms lighter than the production system, it lowers the weight of the vehicle, optimizes the engine’s power delivery while producing a sportier but never obtrusive exhaust note. The version with actively controlled butterfly valve offers an electronic sound management feature that lets the driver switch the engine sound between subtle and powerfully sporty via remote control from the cockpit.
