UK magazine Auto Express has pitted the BMW M4 against the Jaguar F-Type and this drifting event will make any automotive enthusiast smile. Both these cars represent a different motoring philosophy and they come with a mechanical retractable roof and lots of power.
We have recently reviewed the BMW M4 Convertible and it faired quite well. The M4 Convertible posses great handling, blistering acceleration, refined drive and it’s just as fun as the M4 Coupe. Powered by a 3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine developing 425-hp, the BMW M4 Convertible is truly a beast.
This car combines two mono-scroll turbochargers with variable valve control (Double-VANOS and Valvetronic) and high-precision direct injection, all resulting in a smoother and nicer power delivery. This vehicle sprints from 0-60mph (0-100km/h) in 3.9 seconds with the DCT automatic transmission.
Jaguar F-Type, on the other hand, features a supercharged 3.0 liter V6 340 hp engine, which delivers powerful and efficient performance. It sprints from 0-60mph (0-100km/h) in 5.1 seconds.
While somewhat slower than the BMW M4, the Jaguar F-Type can be ordered in a few more powerful, faster and agile versions as well. Both do however have a real talent for going sideways. This can be clearly observed in the video below.
