As proud owners of a Valencia Orange BMW 1M we commend the work done on this particular vehicle. It rolls on a set of ADV.1 Wheels, the ADV5.0 MV.2 Super Light series. It’s another example of an aftermarket wheel design that the BMW 1M clearly benefits from.
Offered only in three colors, Valencia Orange, Alpine White and Black Sapphire, the 1M shown here features the most popular and striking color the vehicle came with.
Wheels shown here are sized 20×9 in the front and 20×11 in the rear.
It’s a design that encompasses a forged two-piece design with showing hardware, but with a configuration that allows for the front face of the wheels to have the recognizeable monoblock look. The fitment of these wheels is spot on, as are the lowering and overall dimensions that fit the Valencia Orange painted performance vehicle from BMW nicely.
The BMW 1M Coupé uses a re-tuned version of the twin-turbocharged N54 engine. In the 1M Coupe, the engine produces 340 PS (250 kW) at 5900 rpm and 332 lb·ft (450 N·m) torque from 1,500 to 4,500 rpm (with +369 lb·ft (500 N·m) overboost). The only available drivetrain is a six-speed manual gearbox with a limited slip differential. This allows the 3,296 lb (1,495 kg) heavy car to accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in 4.8 seconds.
BMW was originally going to release the 1M Coupé as a limited production model of 2,700 units. Then due to overwhelming demand, the company lifted the cap and produced a total of 6309 cars until production ended in June 2012. When roduction of the 1M Coupé stopped in June 2012, it was done with 740 units sold in the US and a further 220 sold in Canada. Total 6309 cars sold worldwide making it a reasonably good collectors car based on the production numbers, power and performance combined with aggressive appearance of this small and nimble racer.
