A new BMW X1 prototype with the M-Sport package has been spotted on the Old Continent. Spy photographers at Carscoop managed to snap some shots of the 2011 X1 with the aggressive M pack.

Building on the great momentum gained in Europe, BMW will offer an M-Sport Package for the entry-level SAV, similar to the one found in the other X models.

The new package is scheduled to be available to customers by the end of this year.

The package includes the usual aerodynamic kit and M-elements such as M-front and rear bumpers, M Sport Wheels, M-suspension, M-steering wheel and other M-branded interior

The M-Sport kit will also be available in time for the US market launch of the X1 next Summer, even though the official launch date has yet to be announced by BMWNA.

In the U.S., BMW is expected to initially launch two models, X1 xDrvei28i and the twin-scroll turbocharged xDrvei35i.

I’d love to see these come stateside, there’s just no market for them.

The X1 is coming to the US, and it will very likely be available with an M sport option. The X1 is taking the place (size wise) of the old X3. The new X3 is roughly the same size as the old E53 X5. Which is why they made the X3 bigger as to fill the gap in the “mid sized” SUV area of the lineup. X5 used to be mid sized, but now it’s monster sized.

I love this car! Looks good with the M-Sport Package!

  3. Bryce says:

This front end looks so much better than the X3! Why can’t they just make this larger and replace the X3 with it…

  4. Ruslan-Kz says:

BMW’ designers always don’t complete something. Remember rear side of 3-er (before restyling) looking like Nissan Primera or some Hyuinday and now front of X1 and X3 with strange shapes of headlights, kidney grills, large wheel arches etc. Not expressive. Don’t disappoint your fans. Tuningers, correct designers errors.

      they never disappoint their fans.

x1 is beautiful, and its gonna look ridiculously awesome with the Msport
      come to americaaaaa, now please.

I kinda wanted to agree but I agree with Tom, they never dissapoint their fans…

Anyway, if you think the designers don’t complete something at least please complete your Hyundai spelling ;)

Why does BMW bother to cover the Roundel? Do they think we will look at and say “Well, I can’t tell what brand this is, the badge is covered.” Just sayin’… =)

    • Heddlu_Cymru M5 says:

Well it’s not just BMW though, it’s also the same for every other car manufacturers.

I remember watching something in the TV where they manufacture the BMW 3er. They said they will not put on the BMW Roundel until they finished up the rest of the car and the roundel comes as the last piece of the car to be put on together. So what I’m trying to say is the car up there is not completed thus they will not put/reveal the roundel =)

  6. BMAPARTS says:

I think the front end looks great, It should come with a better wheel package though, That would help clean up the M Sport look a bit.

  7. Ruslan-Kz says:

If HCM5 pay attention to an unfortunate misprint I think he is Hyunday’ fan.

  8. I have seen X1 in Hong Kong already, will it ever be here in US?
