Stephane Sarrazin will replace Tom Blomqvist at MS Andretti for the remainder of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship season, the team announced this week. The BMW factory driver has been in the No. 27 Andretti ATEC-03 since Marrakesh, replacing Kamui Kobayashi who drove the opening two races in Hong Kong.

According to BMW Motorsport director Jens Marquardt, Blomqvist will focus on BMW’s GT racing championships.

“Andretti is obviously in charge for Season Four on the Formula E side,” Marqaurdt told Sportscar365. “We will have Tom now, that he doesn’t have any more clashes, for full focus on the GT side.

“We’ll see throughout the year where we can now have him more included than we had normally anticipated.”

The rumor is that the BMW’s Le Mans lineup has already been locked in and will not include Blomqvist.

Blomqvist is taking part in this weekend’s Nürburgring 24 with ROWE Racing, and he might end up in some races with the BMW M6 GT3 cars this year.
