With many 2010 models just around the corner, BMW AG announces small pricing increase on some of their vehicles, sold in Germany, starting in January 2010. Along with the price change, BMW will include some options in the standard configuration.

The price increase affects only certain models. BMW X1, X5, X6, 5 GT, 3 Series Coupe and Convertible pricing will not increase.

The cheapest entry into BMW’s lineup continues to be the BMW 116i which now sells at a base price of €22,100, only €100 more than the 2009 model. For all other models in the 1 Series lineup, the price increase is around €250. The super fuel efficient 116d will now sell for € 24,200.

The 3 Series family also sees a slight increase in pricing across the board – €300. The most affordable petrol powered model will be the 318i sedan which will sell for €28,700. The entry level diesel, 316d is priced now at €29,500.

With the new BMW 5 Series Sedan just around the corner, current generation E60 5er sedan is not available for order and therefore not longer listed in the pricing catalog. The Touring model continues to be built in 2010 and the entry level model will be the 520i, priced at €39,700. Its counterpart, the 520d Touring sells for €41,600.

Starting in January, the BMW 6 Series will get the Dakota leather upholstery as a standard item. The 630i Coupe base price goes up €2,250. The 650i Coupe remains priced at €81,000. 635d diesel will now cost €76,750 and the convertible €85,150.

The Dakota Leather upholstery becomes now standard on all the 7 Series models
The BMW 730d has the base price increased by €2,800 to € 73,300 while the BMW 740i will carry a base price of €79,300.

The BMW Z4 roadster models will now cost €300 more. Thus, the Z4 sDrive23i has a price tag of €36,200, the sDrive30i at €43,200 and the top model, sDrive35i, €47,750.

BMW releases the pricing for the new Active Hybrid X6. The first BMW hybrid available for the consumers is priced at 102,900 euros in German market, around $147,000 at the current conversion rates. For Europe, the X6 ActiveHybrid will launch in April 2010.

The X6 Hybrid is powered by an unique two-mode system, a combination of a V8 petrol engine and an electric drive. The base V8 twin-turbo engine produces 407 horsepower and the two electric motors output 91 hp and 86 hp, respectively, with peak torque values of 192 lb-ft and 206 lb-ft. Top speed in the electric mode is 37 mph, maximum range is 1.6 miles.

The maximum power available for the X6 Hybrid is rated at 480 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque. The X6 Hybrid uses a 7-Speed automatic transmission and several EfficientDynamics technologies.

ActiveHybrid X6 runs from 0 to 60 mph in only 5.4 seconds and has a 20% efficiency increase over a comparable vehicle powered by a combustion engine alone.

The “fasted hybrid in the world” as many publications have named it, the X6 Hybrid, also comes with a premium price.. The top model xDrive50i sells in Germany for 76,100 euros, nearly 30,000 euros less than the hybrid model.

We expect the U.S. pricing to be lower, but could this price be a deal breaker in the European market?

The 2010 BMW ordering guides for all the U.S models have been released to the dealerships. Those of you that live in the U.S., I’m sure you’ve been expecting these for a while, as far as our other readers across the globe, I know it’s not directly relevant to you, but you can at least take a peek and see what options are offered here in the U.S. compared to your country.

Some of the big changes in the MY2010 models are related to the entry level 3 Series in the U.S.: 328. These 2010 models will NOT include the moonroof anymore which can be purchased as a stand alone option for $1,000. It is also part of the Premium Package. This is good news for some people that were looking to shave off some pound of their cars(yes, plenty of us are crazy enough to do that), but it can also be disappointing for those of you that enjoy having a moonroof as a standard feature.

For the 328i Sedan and xDrive models, there is a new package available, ZVP Value Package, which includes Leather Dakota, 17 inch wheels with all-season tires and iPod/USB adapter. The ZMP M Sport Package is available on all the 3 Series models, excluding the 335d.

The 535i xDrive Sports Wagon also has a ZVP Value Package which includes even more options: Heated Steering Wheel, Ski Bag, Heated Front Seats, Retractable Headlight Washers, iPod/USB adapter and Leather Dakota. Could this be the last year for the Sports Wagon in the U.S.?

The pricing on the 328i Sedan and Coupe has also been dropped by $750 while the 335i models keep the same pricing structure as last year.

These are just some of the things that popped up in front of our eyes, but feel free to scan through the 53 page BMW ordering guides for 2010.

As we hinted a couple of weeks back, the U.S pricing of the new BMW X5 M and X6 M has just been released and it is pretty much what we expected.

The BMW X5 M has a base price of $85,400 while the X6 M is priced at $88,900. At this time, the ordering guides are not available, but we should see them within the next two weeks.

The “twin Ms” will make their way into the BMW dealerships in the fall.

A quick refresher, BMW X5 M and X6 M are powered by a tuned up 4.4 liter V8 M engine delivering 555 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 500 lb-ft of torque from 1,500 to 5,650 rpm. The engine uses the twin-scroll twin turbo technology with High Precision Direct Injection. By positioning the twin-scroll turbochargers together with the catalytic converters in the “V” section between the cylinders, it minimizes the turbo lag and offers better fuel efficiency.

The M X models come equipped with Dynamic Performance Control, special M suspensions and Adaptive Drive, along with a new Servotronic power steering and Active Roll Stabilization system. Other available options are: Head Up Display, Rear View Camera and High Beam Assistant.

BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M run from 0-60 mph in ONLY 4.5 seconds.

It looks our German friends are quick to release the pricing of the new BMW X5 M and X6 M, same as it happened with the Z4 shortly after the launch. As expect, their pricing jumps over the 100k mark, euros of course, with the more expensive BMW X6 M being valued at 108,500 euros.

The X5 M follows closely with a base price of 105,900 euros, making the “M twins” one of the most BMWs out there.

I still expect the U.S pricing to be in the $90,000 range, but we’ll find out next week.

One of their main competitors, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is priced at 133,970 euros, making the X6 M, at least on paper, a better buy. Turbo S outputs 550 horsepower.

The Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG which has always been considered a direct competitor to the X5 is priced at 104,480 euros.

We should also take in consideration the powerful Audi Q7 V12 which produces 500 horsepower and it is priced in Europe at 130,600 euros.

Stay tuned for more information.

Thanks for the info EnI!

Good news for some BMW fans, not all the 2010 models have received a price increase. The BMW M5, M6 and the 6 Series are being priced the same as in 2009. The M5 still has a base price of $85,500 while the M6 price is set at $102,000.

Both M5 and M6, along with the 6 Series, receive the all-new iDrive system and the HD Radio. The 6 Series will have the Sport Automatic Transmission as standard while the Manual will set you back another $250.

The wonderful BMW Individual Package has been reduced to $7,700, but a unique Individual paintwork costs $1,800.

What’s included in the package? For starters, the Full Merino Leather, BMW Individual Trim, Anthracite or Alcantara headliner, but also new 19 inch Individual wheels and illuminated door sills.

The new 7 Series gets pretty much the same package, the only noticeable difference are the 20 inch Individual wheels.

Thanks for the tip Randy!

As we mentioned several times before, several BMW vehicles will have an M Sport Package as an option. All the BMW 3 Series variants, along with the 135i, 5 Series and X5 will get their own version of the ZMP, the M Sport Package internal code.

Everyone has been wondering how much will this package cost and of course, many people started to speculate (including us), but now we have the official pricing:

BMW 3 Series E90 Sedan $3750

BMW 3 Series E91 Wagon $3270

BMW 3 Series E92 Coupe $3250

BMW 3 Series E93 $3250

BMW 550i $4800

BMW X5 3.0 and 4.8 $6500

I have to say that I am bit suprised by the high pricing set by BMWNA and since they are aggresively looking to boost sales, I expected lower prices across the line.

I have been saying for a while that this is the best time to buy a car, and especially a BMW. I have seen some insane deals on M cars, due to low APR offers and still high residual values.

BMW continues its push-sales strategy and they just announced an enhancement to their financing programs.

BMW USA is introducing a two payment program for select models throughout its vehicle line-up. In this initiative, BMW will make the first two payments (up to $750 per month / $1,500 max.) for vehicles financed through BMW Financial Services.
The program is available for 18 different BMW models, including a choice of BMW 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, and X5 models.

The offer can be combined with current APR financing offers ranging from 0.9% to 3.9%. For two of BMW’s most popular models, the 328i and the 528i (both rear wheel and xDrive versions; 2009 models), APR financing of 0.9% for up to 60 months is available through March 31.

The program started on February 4 and will end on March 2 for remaining 2008 models. For 2009 models, the program ends on March 31.

According to Peter Miles, Executive Vice President, Operations, BMW of North America, BMW does not plan to continue these offers later during the year. Miles: “We are sending a signal to car buyers that this is a great time to shop for a new vehicle. With its unique 4-year/50,000 mile free maintenance program and good fuel economy BMW has always had a good value story. And with these finance offers on top, there has never been a better time to get into a new BMW”.

Fresh of the press, BMW has just confirmed that the recently launched BMW 335d and X5d will quality for a tax credit. The 3 Series Diesel tax credit is up to $900 while the X5d up to $1,800.

With a base price of $44,725, the 335d is $3,200 higher than the regular 335i sedan, so the tax credit should help a bit. The base price of the X5 xDrive35d is $52,025.

Now let’s see if these tax credit will have an immediate impact on their sales.

Press Release after the jump

BMW of North America, LLC confirmed today that both of its BMW Advanced Diesel models with BluePerformance technology have qualified for an Internal Revenue Service Advanced Lean Burn Technology Motor Tax Credit. In choosing vehicles that will burn significantly less fuel and produce significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions, purchasers of the 335d sedan will qualify for up to a $900 tax credit while purchasers of the X5 xDrive35d Sports Activity Vehicle® will qualify for up to a $1,800 tax credit.

“Qualification for these tax credits is further recognition of the remarkable efficiency of our new BMW Advanced Diesel models,” said Jim O’Donnell, President of BMW of North America, LLC.

Both BMW Advanced Diesel models keep the promise of the Ultimate Driving Machine® while delivering class leading fuel efficiency. With 265 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque available from the 3.0-liter sequential twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel engine, the 335d is capable of accelerating from 0 – 60 mph is six seconds flat while the X5 xDrive35d will do it in just 6.9 seconds. In spite of this level of performance the 335d Sedan, the most fuel efficient BMW ever sold in the US, delivers 23 miles per gallon city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway according to the US EPA. The X5 xDrive35d is rated at 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. Both models are capable of traveling nearly 600 miles on a single tank of fuel.

The 335d Sedan and X5 xDrive35d Sports Activity Vehicle® are now available in BMW centers across all 50 states.

In an expected move, BMW North America announced a price increase on all of their models. The 0.7% price increase will become effective January 1, 2009, but it will not affect the base prices of their recently launched diesel models: BMW 335d and X5 xDrive35d.

The reason for the price increase? Economical changes in the market place and a revenue decline in 2008. In addition, BMW has also announced the pricing for the 2009 BMW 7 Series, and nothing has changed from the previous article we wrote:

BMW 750i – $81,125 MSRP

BMW 750Li -$85,025 MSRP

The new 7 Series will reach the U.S dealerships in the first week of March 2009, but the 7er can be ordered any time now.

Here is the full BMW pricing for 2009:

BMW ANNOUNCES JANUARY 2009 PRICE ADJUSTMENT
12/22/2008

Woodcliff Lake, NJ – December 22, 2008…BMW of North America, LLC announced today an average price increase of 0.7 percent for BMW vehicles sold in the U.S. effective January 1, 2009. This action is driven by the ongoing structural and economical changes in the market place. It will ensure revenue generation for the company’s U.S. operations and help to protect the quality of business.

Pricing for the new Advanced Diesel vehicles remain unchanged. The all new 335d and X5 xDrive35d were launched recently and have begun arriving at BMW Centers this month.

In addition, BMW announced pricing for the new 2009 7 Series that debuted recently at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. The base price for the 750i is $81,125 and the 750Li is 85,025 (including $825 for destination and handling). Both models began production in November and will arrive at BMW Centers in the spring.

Well BMW seems to be trying to shore up their slumping sales. We are being told that the new programs are going to be 0.9 Financing available on some 2009 models. The same financing as the outgoing 2008’s! Below is what we think the rates are going to be. Of course it will be subject to some last minute change but this is pretty close.

This past Friday, BMW has released new lease and finance rates for all of their 2008 models. The economical crisis that we are going through, associated with lower than expected sales, has pushed BMW to change their strategy again. We’re not sure if this is a short term plan and we won’t be speculating since we’re not finance majors, hopefully we will hear more soon.

In the mean time, all of the 2008 bimmers, with the exception of the X6, can be purchased with a 0.9% finance rate. Additionally, money factors have been reduced on all models, except the 1 Series and X6.

I looked at my BMW 335i’s lease numbers(I purchased the car back in January), and I realized the new rates would have saved me almost $50/month or a total of $1800 over three years. Not bad, but hey, you can’t always predict the market.

Unexpected move by BMW Canada, after years of complaining, the neighbors from north of us, will enjoy lower prices on their BMWs. Just a few days ago, in an article about Canada and the diesel engines, I was going back and forth with J M, a BMW Client Advisor, about the higher than normal canadian prices in compare to the U.S one, especially since the CAD hit par with the USD.

The new 3 Series Sedan and Touring will have MSRP reductions ranging from $1,000 -$1,100 depending on model and it will include more standard features than before.

The 5 Series model range also heads into MY 2009 with: -across-the-board MSRP reductions. -revisions to standard equipment which, when combined with MSRP reductions, add from $1,300 to $6,600 of additional value vs. 2008, depending on model.

The highest price reduction can be found in the BMW M6 Coupe and Cabriolet, around $7,000 off MSRP compared to the previous year model.

Most of the models receive the awaited discounts, minus the newly introduces 1 and 3 Series, along with the M3 or the X6.

But here is the full press release for our Canadian friends. I really hope these news will make you smile.

BMW Canada announces MY 2009 Product and Pricing Updates 09/16/2008 Whitby. BMW Canada announced today pricing and equipment details of the 2009 model year lineup. The new 3 Series Sedan and Touring highlight the new model offerings, while MSRP reductions ranging from $1,000 -$7,000 depending on model complemented by upgraded equipment levels, represent increased value for consumers. “The Canadian market remains intensely competitive and premium brand consumers are benefiting,” stated Kevin Marcotte, Director Marketing, BMW Canada. “Our 2009 product offerings, including diesel engines in the new 3 Series Sedan and X5 Sports Activity Vehicle later this year provide Canadians with even more choice to enjoy our brand promise of delivering The Ultimate Driving Experience.” The following summary outlines key features of 2009 BMW model lineup.

BMW 3 Series family The entire 3 Series model range transitions into MY 2009 with: -across-the-board MSRP reductions of $1,000 to $1,100. -new standard equipment which, in conjunction with the revised pricing, add from $2,180 to $4,500 of additional total value, depending on model. BMW 3 Series Sedans and the 3 Series Touring Defending its position as the benchmark Sports Sedan, the BMW 3 Series Sedan, along with its stablemate 3 Series Touring, inaugurate the 2009 model year with fresh exterior esthetics, safety enhancements, refined interior and ergonomics. Highlights of changes for the 2009 BMW 3 Series Sedan and Touring: – Revised coachwork front to rear, featuring a new front apron with larger air inlets, a more dynamic rear apron, sculpted around a 16 millimetre wider rear track and larger L-shaped taillights with LED technology, creating a wider stance and more dynamic silhouette. – New applications of chrome on controls, revised armrest ergonomics and a larger storage compartment in central console to facilitate external audio devices, lead a myriad of subtle interior refinements resulting in enhanced sophistication and ambiance. – New generation iDrive, available as part of the optional Navigation Package, features an industry-leading 22 cm (8.8 inch) wide Control Display with significantly higher resolution and display graphics. The new generation iDrive controller is more compact and supplemented with direct access keys grouped around the iDrive controller, affording swift and intuitive access to the most commonly used menu items of the iDrive system. -Navigation-equipped 3 Series Sedans and Touring models feature a new internal hard drive with a storage capacity of 80 GB. The system provides outstandingly quick access to digital maps for navigation purposes and can also be used for an extensive collection of music files. The system enables music files to be transferred to the hard drive from a CD, MP3 player or USB stick. – Active Headrests join a long list of standard passive safety features, further reducing the risk of head injury in the event of a rear-end collision.

2009 Pricing and Equipment Upgrades on 3 Series Sedan and Touring 323i – MSRP of $34,900 ($1000 less than MY 2008) plus the addition of Heated Seats, Through-load with Ski bag and Automatic Climate Control as standard equipment – bringing the total added value to $2180 vs. the equivalent MY 2008 model. 328i and 328i xDrive – MSRPs of, respectively, $39,900 and $42,500 ($1,100 less than MY 2008) plus the addition of a Glass Sunroof and Electric Front Seats with Driver Memory as standard equipment – bringing the total added value for both models to $4,000 vs. the equivalent MY 2008 model. 335i and 335i xDrive – MSRP of $48,900 and $52,500, respectively ($1,000 less than MY 2008), plus the addition of Dakota Leather and BMW Assist with Bluetooth as standard equipment – bringing the total added value for both models to $4,500 vs. the equivalent MY 2008 model. 328i xDrive Touring – MSRP of $44,100 ($1,000 less than MY 2008) while adding a Glass Sunroof and Electric Front Seats with Driver Memory as standard equipment – a total added value of $4,200 vs. the equivalent MY 2008 model.

As expected, BMW will increase their prices on most of their models. Since the dollar decline, it has become obvious that BMWNA will increase their base price on some models and also packages and options.

Base prices increase are as follows:

Base price increase of $300 on X5, Z4, 328i and 528i

Base price increase of $400 on 335i and 535i

Base price increase of $600 on the X3

Base price increase $1000 on M5, M6, 750i, 750Li and 6 Series

Base price increase of $1500 on the 760Li

Destination charge increase of $50

Automatic Transmission charge increase of $50

Metallic Paint charge increase of $50

Premium Package price increase of $100

Sport Package price increase of $100

The base price increase will affect all models with the exception of the recently introduced M3, X6 and 1 Series. All price increases will be efective June 1, 2008.

Even though the increase is pretty much within the standards of what we have seen in the past, I'm sure some people will be disappointed. Despite all of this, I still believe that the BMW's price are quite competitive.

As we have announced yesterday, BMW has released the lease residual values for the 1-series models. While the residuals seem to be fair for the upcoming 128i and 135i models, the money factor is pretty high. Of course, due to these factors, the monthly lease payments, on a well equipped car with zero money down, can exceed $700.

In my opinion there are a few reasons why BMW decided to go this route:

It's a brand new model with a large demand, good reviews and lots of hype around it.

The dollar is tanking and the euro is stronger than ever, therefore, very thin profit on the 1-series.

Based on the history of releasing new models, BMW is known to have bigger lease factors in the beginning.

Everyone was lucky to lease 3-series cars for anywhere between $400-600/month, just because BMW subsidized leases.

With this being said, while I believe that a fair amount of people, will move away from the 1-series for now, BMW will do just fine and there will be plenty of buyers that will jump on the amazing 135i coupe.

Now, let's start a poll and see how many actually will go ahead and still lease an 1'er.

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

Today, BMW Financial Services has released the 2008 residual values for the upcoming BMW 128i coupe and convertible, 135i coupe, M3 sedan and coupe, and the all new X6 xDrive35i. Also, yesterday, BMW released the pricing for the X6 models, so now, everyone can start calculating lease payment. I know, we're missing the Money Factor, but you can use the one from the other models to get an idea on what to expect to pay.

These values are vald until April 30, 2008.

What I can tell you from these numbers is the fact that the M3 lease rates will be extremely high. Now for the 1-series fans, obviously the 128i Coupe will be quite affordable but the 135i is not that far away.

If you would like to play around with numbers, you can use this lease calculator, it's pretty good and accurate.

Yes, BMW had done it again. No price increase from the 2007 X5 models. Great news for those of you that are looking to pick up one of the this new X5s, but in the same time, I can not ask myself again if BMW will increase their prices starting next year. My previous article that talks about the perfect time to buy a BMW, offers many arguments on why everyone thinks that BMW will have no choice but to push up their prices in the near future.

In the mean time, the BMW X5 price stays the same, on both the 3.0si and the 4.8i models. Here are other few things that have been added:

Panoramic Moonroof becomes standard on all the models effective with production beginning October 1st.

Automatic Tailgate begins production effective with November production and it costs $500

Additional news for 2008:
1. 3.0si gets wood trim and chrome tail pipes as standard equipment.
2. Window shades (417) which were previously a stand alone item, are now part of the (ZRC) Rear Climate package. New (ZRC) price is $900.
3. 6-Disc CD changer in the Premium Sound package (ZPS) is replaced by a DVD changer (696). New package price is $1,850.
4. Price for HD Radio (653) has been reduced from $500 to $350.
