Let me start by saying that the following video has NOT been produced nor sanctioned by BMW. We don’t have the full details on who has produced the video, but we know it has been going around the web for at least two weeks now.
BMW North America has reached out to us to deny any involvement in producing this and the content doesn’t represent BMW’s point of view.
Nonetheless, it is our duty to bring it upfront and let you decided what to make of it. While some of the assumptions made in there or the stereotypes might not be entirely accurate, from an artistic point of view, the viral is very well done.
You decide what to make of it! Read the rest of this entry »
In one of our single favorite pieces of automotive video-journalism, Tiff pits the E90 ///M3 Sedan against its claimed rival, the Lexus IS-F.
With competition that can’t design an accelerator pedal, the results are as you’d expect.
While this episode of 5th gear is not new, it does highlight the performance and fun-factor of BMW’s beloved ///M3. The recipe calls for an empty race track, a retired race car driver, 3 attractive young women, an ///M3 sedan and a fresh set of rubber.

BMW’s marketing and advertising have never been a group to let an audience down. Across the years, BMW have provided innovative ways in which to present their message of the Ultimate Driving Machine and despite having a number of global advertising firms that have represented this purpose over the years the messages have still endured. However, advertising can be an expensive endeavor – even for multi-billion Euro companies – and it is even more difficult to make each of those Euros work effectively becomes increasingly more difficult.
By the early 2000’s, the flood gates of the Internet and its role in everyone’s day-to-day lives was in full swing with the the web finally finding cohesive application and acceptance both for businesses and personal users. BMW, being the forward-thinking group they are, decided to take advantage of the Internet as a new tool for reaching consumers combined with the idea of a leaner, more effective advertising budget and premiered, via their website, BMW Films. “Is it an SUV? A Wagon? Or about a hatchback?”
This very same phrase we’ve been hearing ever since the first rumors of a new BMW surfaced three years ago, but BMW surprised the automotive market with the introduction of a new niche model, a vehicle that, as InsideLine, mentions in their video review, it is hard to fit into a category.
Sure, it might not fit the bill of a true Gran Turismo, but it sure left a good impression on many people that have seen it or driven it.
Based on the platform of the new BMW 7 Series, the 5 Series GT was built on the same principle that made the original Gran Turismo vehicles so popular: a high-performance luxury automobile designed for long-distance driving and why not, having some fun while at it.
BMW owners and fans are said to be very passionate, a common trait that connects all of us, not only to each other, but also to the brand. We go from uber taking care of our cars and detail the already detailed car to giving names to our bimmers as we would give to our loved ones.
We also engage in extensive photoshoots and take countless of videos of our bimmers, then run off and start bragging about it left and right. Yes, we’re all guilty of that and we have nothing to be ashamed of.
So when we came across this video, named “My One and Only”, we knew you would enjoy seeing it. And no, my one and only doesn’t refer to what you would expect, but rather a gorgeous black BMW 135i Coupe.
Have a look at this video and enjoy the art put into it!
Here it is ladies and gentlemen, the one bimmer we’ve been all waiting for and the one that brings that much craved for exhaust note. Being in the BMW world for quite some time now, I often come across BMW fans and owners that brag about one thing first: the exhaust sound of their bimmers.
But with the introduction of the recent turbo engines that specific exhaust sound was less intriguing than in a high revved naturally aspirated engine and believe me, I’ve heard all about it.
Don’t fear anymore, if you can’t afford the M3 or M5 at this point, the 335is comes to save the day. Sure, it’s not an M car, we’ve been over this already, but it’s more than a decent compromise for those of you looking for a new performance sporty car.

Just a few weeks ago, the famous host of the equally famous show Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson, went on a rampage against the BMW X6, the same very controversial Sports Activity Coupe from BMW that kept the headlines of many automotive magazines for years now.
One of the major complaints against the X6 was in the off-road capability of the car and its inability to perform well in winter conditions. To prove the point, Clarkson went to the extreme of taking the X6 all the way up into the Alps. Here is a quick recap of what we published at the time:
The next item on list just simply made us smile. Expecting the X6 SAC to act as a 4×4 and crawl over boulders, is just something we didn’t think we would hear. The X6 is a sport oriented vehicle craving for performance, and yes, it does give you some off-roading capabilities, but not even close to a Jeep or Range Rover. It’s like comparing apples and oranges.
Now, the next scene shows the X6 35d struggling to climb a hill…okay, we got the point, but easily we forget the car comes equipped with summer/performance tires that won’t do well on snow nor grass. Any xDrive system coupled with good winter or all-season tires will get the job done. And really?? Summer tires in snow, in the highest ski resort in the Alps?
We are continuing the coverage on the 2011 BMW 3 Series Coupe and Convertible LCIs with a couple of videos released by BMW earlier today.
First one focuses on the 3 Series Coupe facelift showing the car in all its glory and accentuating the recent design changes that have already created some controversy amongst the BMW fans. While some try to resist the change, there are still plenty other ones that embraced the subtle design changes and believe the 3 Series Coupe moves towards a more masculine look.
The E93 Cabriolet remains one of the most beautiful cars in BMW’s portfolio and with the new 318i model (four cylinder 143 hp) becomes even more attractive in the German market.
Base price? Around 38,700 €.
