Dubbed CLR 500 RS2, the tuned up 5er carries forward the LUMMA philosophy by giving the BMW 535i a super aggressive body kit, an unique paint and the usual power boost.

The CLR 500 RS2 kit includes a new front bumper, wider rear fenders, side skirts, rear bumper with integrated rear diffuser and dark tail lights. Even further, the two tuners also added a carbon fiber rear trunk spoiler. The car also received a new vented hood made from Carbon Fiber.

The car sits on custom LUMMA R19 wheels finished in Satin black.

CLR 500 RS2 produces 380hp, a significant increase over the 306 horsepower found in the “standard” engine.

LUMMA CLR 500 RS2 comes with a hefty price, 136,933 euros.

Here is an excerpt from their article:

“Steve Dinan has sold more than 2000 software upgrades for the 135i/335i, making it the most popular upgrade in his company’s 31-year history. And it’s easy to see why: For $2199, a simple download at one of Dinan’s 129 U.S. dealers immediately endows a 335i with as much as 384 horsepower and 421 pound-feet of torque (versus 300 and 300, respectively). Dinan notes that this is actually more like a 60-hp gain, as BMW’s twin-turbo inline-six comfortably makes more than the advertised 300 horsepower in stock form.

The car tested here goes a little further. Outfitted in “Stage 3” trim, the S3 335i has an oil cooler that is twice as large as standard, a bigger intercooler, a better-breathing carbon-fiber intake, and a freer-flowing exhaust that allows for 1 additional psi of boost versus the 384-hp setup (14 psi total versus 8.8 psi stock). The result is 408 horsepower and a bombastic 440 pound-feet of torque. But it doesn’t come cheap: The aforementioned mods total $8895.

Not surprisingly, throttle tip-in is jumpy as the newfound torque introduces itself. The engine is crazy responsive from 3000 rpm but starts to run out of steam between 6000 rpm and the 7000-rpm redline—the boost tapers off in order to keep the turbos comfortably below their 230,000-rpm limit. And for a turbocharged engine, it still sounds remarkably raspy. At 4.4 seconds to 60 mph and 13.0 through the quarter-mile, the S3 335i is about a half-second quicker than a stock 335i in both regards and nearly matches the last manual M3 we tested.”

Continued here

Here is an excerpt from their review:

“We tested the midlife 335i coupe and convertible with the dual-clutch Getrag rather than the ZF-built six-speed automatic manual that will be the U.S. option for this car. That’s because the Europeans can have any transmission they darn well want in the 3 Series, while BMW North America wants to reserve the Getrag for more exclusive models like the 335is and M3.

But, as already written, there’s more than just a different tranny to the revised 3 Series. The N55 inline-6 puts up the same power and torque numbers as the N54 twin-turbo, only now with less mechanical effort and fewer CO2 emissions. The N55 combines direct fuel injection, variable valve timing and a single BorgWarner twin-scroll turbocharger that can deliver peak boost of 10 psi.

So, yes, BMW has been scooching around various technical pieces in the 3 Series formula as if they were chess pieces in order to create a new, upper level of 3 Series cars. To our thinking, the new 335i and 335is are different enough to warrant one another’s existence. (Is the $7,000 extra for the 335is warranted? Well, can’t decide that one since it’s up to them what buy ‘em.)

One more subtle change to be seen first in this 2011 BMW 335i is the use of Sachs dampers at all corners. The objective is a more linear cycle of compression and rebound across the low-speed bumps in town, as well as over the high-speed bumps of the highway. The system of coil spring and piston within the dampers has given way to a stack of thin washerlike discs that produce more progressive fluid flow and less vibration over everyday pavement imperfections. (GM has used this technology in the U.S. for years.) We can attest that we felt the difference and also that none of the goodness on the sporty side of the equation has been lost.”

One of the most popular car comparisons out there is back once again: 2009 BMW 335i vs. 2010 Audi S4. The fellows over at Car and Driver decided to challenge the two sport sedans that have been competing in the same class for quite some time.

While most of the time, the BMW 335i comes out as a winner, the fellows at C&D seem to have a different opinion this time and the S4 gets their vote. Of course, some of these comparisons can be based on personal preferences, but before we jump into any conclusions, let’s take a look at their review.

We’ll boil it down: Forget the Audi’s as-tested price of $59,425 and the BMW’s $49,320 tab. This story is about how a $50,675 Audi S4 (the base price plus the performance-vital Audi drive select but minus all the nonessential luxuries we’re assiduously ignoring because we’re trained professionals) meets a $48,470 BMW 335i (base price plus all the requisite options to match the S4’s standard equipment) on virtually equal treads. Before you howl about the Audi’s higher price, recall that it also has standard all-wheel drive. [See sidebar for why we didn’t compare it with an all-wheel-drive 335i xDrive.]

Consider: Both the S4 and the 335i are four-door sedans with 3.0-liter, force-fed six-cylinders and redlines starting at 7000 rpm, and both hail from autobahn-honeycombed Germany. It’s the perfect two-car duel—a concours a deux, says a man who wears Boss. Does Audi want this bad enough? Let’s gas ’em up and see.

Why We Nixed the AWD Bimmer – Comparison Tests
Before you start cranking out toxic verbiage about our selection process, listen to our side of it. Audi’s competitive target for this S4 is BMW’s 335i xDrive (the all-wheel-drive variant). Don’t we, by the natural laws of the universe, have to compare the AWD S4 with BMW’s AWD version of the 335i, the so-called xDrive?

We don’t. We think the 335i in rear-drive mode is the more compelling performance package. So why penalize the BMW just because the S4 only comes in all-wheel drive? The rear-drive 335i is roughly 200 pounds lighter and has better weight distribution: 50.8 percent over the front axle versus 52.1 for the AWD xDrive. When the rear-drive BMW includes the Sport package, it rides an inch closer to the ground than the xDrive, lowering the center of gravity, which improves handling and reduces weight transfer. But add that Sport package to an xDrive, and you don’t get the lowered, sport-tuned suspension.

Earlier that year at the Geneva Motor Show, BMW introduced the Performance Parts catalog for the 1 Series Coupe.

The BMW Performance Parts catalog includes a variety of original BMW accessories which can take the customization of a car to a whole new level. Beside the aerodynamic components, the BMW Performance Accessories also offer an engine performance boost and handling.

BMW North America offers a factory warranty on all the parts sold under this program for 2 years or 24, 000 miles. If you decide to install the Performance Accessories at the local BMW dealership, the parts will be automatically covered under the new vehicle warranty.

Many of you might already know what the next question will be: will any of these performance parts be covered under the Free BMW Maintenance Program – 4 years or 50,000 miles? The answer is simple: YES. Purchasing a new set of performance brakes, will implicitly enter them as part of the Free Maintenance Program and will be replaced at no charge.

Judging by what we see in these photos and what Joe has posted as well, this black BMW 335i Sedan features several BMW Performance Accessories:

Short Shift Kit($576), Front and Rear Aero Kits($861 + $961), Aero Kit Side Skirts($472.95), BMW Performance Strips($159.95), Style 313 19 inch performance wheels($751.96 front and $790.46 rear), Black Kidney Grille($145) and Performance Exhaust($2,327.46). The numbers listed here might not reflect the final purchasing price since they were published by BMW as suggested retail prices and they do not include installation and taxes.

A partial list of other 3 Series Performance Parts includes:

Performance Air Intake

Cross-Drilled Rotors

Performance Control Arm

Performance Suspension

Performance Engine Package

Performance Differential

Shift boot

Performance Shift Knob

Performance Strut Brace
