In 2018, the BMW i8 facelift will be on the market and because relatively little is changed on the outside, one of the most noticeable changes to the eye is the refreshed infotainment system. The facelift brings the current BMW iDrive Generation ID6 into the plug-in hybrid sports car. Thus, features such as the main menu with live tiles or the Apple CarPlay integration as well as the latest BMW ConnectedDrive Services find their way into the hybrid coupe.

As part of the conversion, Bimmer-Manufaktur.de has also immediately replaced the iDrive controller on the center console with the current version of the ID6. The factory specializes in equipping the vehicles of BMW drivers with the latest optional extras by retrofitting original BMW parts and thus keeping them up to date.

With ID6, all menus and functions integrated before the facelift receive a new look. In addition to the main menu in the tile design, the navigation map, the reversing camera, the consumption history and the ConnectedDrive Store are presented in an even more modern design.

In addition to the refreshed infotainment system, the 2018 BMW i8 facelift includes new exterior and interior colors as well as a slightly modified powertrain. Thanks to a more powerful lithium-ion battery in the center tunnel of the carbon fiber passenger compartment, the plug-in hybrid now provides more than 50 kilometers of electric range. Thanks to the stronger battery, the system performance increases from 362 to 374 hp.

BMW will introduce the updated i8 Facelift in January at the Detroit Auto Show.
