An event held at the Papenburg high-speed oval showed exactly who’s who among German tuners. Hamann couldn’t miss out on this opportunity and the famous BMW tuner brought the big guns. According to a video recently uploaded on their Youtube channel, one of their tuned BMW M4 models proved to be the fastest Bimmer on the track that day, reaching a top speed of 306.4 km/h or 190.3 mph.

According to the company, the car they brought out was their take on the M4, which puts out considerably more power than the stock version. To be more precise, the Hamann M4 makes 517 HP and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, noticeably more than the stock 431 PS and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. Furthermore, their car took just 1 kilometer to reach 250 km/h (155 mph) on the high speed oval.

Reaching 290 km/h (180.1 mph) took just another kilometer and from then on to the top speed, the M4 accelerated over the course of yet another 1,000 meters. Therefore, the eye-watering speed was achieved by covering only 3 kilometers, a rather impressive feat for what is, after all, still a BMW M4 at its core.

Of course, the power increase wasn’t the only thing changed on this particular car. The tuner also installed its aerodynamic package on the car to offer it more stability and downforce at higher speeds as well as better traction for the rear axle. The wheels used were Hamann’s own lightweight 20″ anniversary model while Continental provided the tires which, apparently, can withstand speeds up to 340 km/h (211 mph), therefore were apparently not pushed to the absolute limit.
