The MINI JCW Clubman is definitely a good-sounding car. The John Cooper Works treatment works wonders for the 2-liter B48 4-cylinder engine under the hood, no matter the application. Be it on a hardtop or a Countryman, the upgraded exhaust makes the character of the car really stand out. However, when dealing with an aftermarket exhaust things get even wilder and the guys from Remus now have a kit for your Clubman JCW model if you’re interested in getting a bit louder.

They just published a video showcasing the sound the car makes with their take on the exhaust and things are looking or, better said, sounding good. What you’re looking at here is a full cat-back exhaust consisting of a non-resonated section, connection tube and sport exhaust centered L/R system with integrated valve. Unlike other options on the market out there, this system includes EC certification that will surely come in handy, especially for European customers.

The Remus exhaust also has a bigger diameter compared to the standard one, being 5 mm larger than the 65 mm stock one. Furthermore, it works fully with the car’s standard valve actuator and doesn’t need any additional coding or anything. The price starts at 871 Euros but it can go up by a noticeable amount depending on the trims you choose for the tailpipes.

And while all that sounds enticing (pun intended), in the end you also get a more powerful car, the wider exhaust also offering a power increase, albeit small. According to Remus their new exhaust adds 3.9 HP and 9.4 Nm of torque to the car’s total. That means your JCW will be making almost 235 HP and 360 Nm (265 lb-ft) of torque and yes, that’s probably too little to influence the o-60 mph sprint or any other notable performance figure.
