In what appears to be a short teaser of a longer video to come, BMW published a 1-minute clip today that will get your heart rate up in anticipation of what’s to come. In the footage, we get to admire two of the best looking concepts the brand launched in the last few years, the BMW 2002 Hommage and the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R.

Sharing the famous Miramas track in France, the place where some of the most innovative BMWs are being tested, the two cars seem to be right at home on the black tarmac, next to each other. Representing a vision of how a modern day version of the BMW 2002 or a BMW 3.0 CSL would look like, the concepts stunned the crowds when they were unveiled. To this day, the effect they achieve is the same, with aggressive lines and plenty of BMW charm to go around.

The BMW 2002 Hommage is a tribute for the original 2002 Turbo, a car that literally wrote history over 50 years ago when it was unveiled. BMW’s fresh interpretation of the BMW 2002 adopts the form of a compact sports coupe in the classical tradition of BMW Hommage cars. But more than that, the BMW 2002 Hommage represents a clear statement of how pure driving pleasure is defined in 2016.

On the other hand, the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R also has what it takes not to be overshadowed by its smaller brother. This is a car that celebrates both the 40th anniversary of BMW in North America and the heady racing success of the BMW 3.0 CSL in 1975.

That was the year the Bavarian manufacturer founded BMW of North America, its first official sales company outside Europe. It was also the year in which BMW Motorsport made its debut in motor racing stateside – in the IMSA series – with a specially made BMW 3.0 CSL which sported exactly the same colors as the Hommage R. We certainly can’t wait to see the full video of these two beauties on the track.
