The BMW Z4 GTLM and its base Z4 GT3 have unfortunately been denied all the great racing successes, but the racing car was never a slow one. We were able to get an idea of its performance on the circuit of the Thermal Club near Palm Springs back in January when we attended the launch of the new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires.

Our sister magazine Bimmertoday, with the help of a Samsung Gear 360, has created a 360 ° video of the fast lap, which now allows you a virtual ride with us.

The BMW Z4 GTLM is closely related to the European Z4 GT3 and was initially launched under the name Z4 GTE. The racing car was adapted in some areas to the ACO regulations of the American Le Mans Series. Of course, the racing car has always been optimized over the years.

The version seen in the video is powered by a 4.4-liter high-speed V8, which sends a little more or slightly less than 490 hp to the rear wheels, depending on the size of the air flow limiter. With a weight of 1,230 kilograms, the loud screaming V8 of the almost 4.40 meters long and slightly more than two meters wide BMW Z4 GTLM, is quite light, despite the unaccustomed presence of a passenger.

As seen in the video below, the cornering speeds are slightly surprisingly clear for the Z4, which also benefits from its Michelin Motorsport tires with 300 mm front width and even 310 mm width at the rear axle.
