With the BMW G30 5 Series out, the whole world is waiting for the rest of the 5 Series family. For the moment, we got to take a look at the standard sedan in Luxury, Sport and M Sport guises but we didn’t get to see the Touring model or the BMW F90 M5 for that matter. While the Touring version is coming in the next few months, for the M5 we’ll have to wait a little longer.

However, since we now know what the body of the 5 Series looks like, artists can create M5 renderings that can be quite close to the end design, like the one we have here from X-Tomi Design.

The rendering features the typical M cues, starting with the super aggressive front fascia, with the large air intakes and curtains. The image also showcases a set of M-designed wheels and a low suspension setup.

The new wheels are expected for the BMW F90 M5, as every new M car ever launched came with its own wheel setup to differentiate it from its predecessor.

A new color is also probably in the works, one for the M5 to call its own. The 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 under the hood is expected to output around 600 HP and it should come with all-wheel drive. Since the new M550i does 0-62 in 4 seconds, the M5 will probably be closer to 3.5 seconds.

The M760Li has around the same power but probably weights something like 250kg more and does 0-100km/h in 3.6s. 3.2s claimed for the F90 wouldn’t be surprising.

    It looks like crap lol

Although, it would be a bit disappointing if the new iteration were to grow visually in mass. Seems the trend of each new generation adds mass so much so that the 5er is beginning to look like the 7 series. Though BMW and others continue to prove they can engineer a big car capable on challenging roads there appears an element missing that can’t be built in. Fun. The bigger the vehicle the robotic the driver experience.

    l can’t wait for the next M5 !
I hope that the M5 F90 will remain the queen of the category.

Sexy looking machine. And I do think if they want to, they can iterate it to 3.2s, which would put it in S8 territory, but leave precious little room for enhancement in future models. 3.4 would still be respectable IMHO.
