Going old school is the norm these days. We’ve seen it in fashion, architecture and now, in cars; from the advent of the BMW M2 which unmistakably sources design and performance cues from the BMW 2002ti, all the way to aftermarket companies producing parts for the newest high-performance BMW models. The HRE Classic lineup is just what you might think it is. A series of custom-made, forged wheels, albeit with a classic design language written all over them.

HRE’s Street Collection combines the technical expertise from the company’s championship-winning racing wheels with uncompromised attention to detail. This allows them to create the ultimate in lightweight, high-strength performance forged wheels.

The F80 M3 is by no means old. It was released in 2015 with performance as its main agenda. Thanks to a 3.0 liter BMW TwinPower Turbo engine delivering 425 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque (a full 111 lb-ft over the previous version), it can sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.1 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 155mph (250km/h). With a price tag of $63,500 for the base model, it certainly represents the sweet spot in BMW’s performance range.

This BMW F80 M3 is rocking a set of HRE Classic 501 wheels. Even though the wheel spoke design is clearly reminiscent of the 1980s in a big way, they still fit the all-new BMW M3 perfectly. The sizes for these are 20×9.5 in the front and 20×11.5 in the rear, respectively. Thanks to a Matte Gunmetal finish combined with classy polished lips, the back to the school agenda is on point, for sure.

Combine that with a summer inspired, classy photooshot and some excellent background for these shots, and you’ve got yourself one amazing photoshoot.
