With more and more manufacturers banking on the four-door Coupe trend, it’s hard not to imagine all sorts of design hybrids showing up. In the modern era, the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class is credited for starting this craze and rightfully so. The Merc was shortly followed by BMW with its 6 Series Gran Coupe and Audi with its A7, creating a proper trio of style and confusion. Today we’re taking a look at what a potential Rolls-Royce Wraith would look like in a four-door coupe guise.
The sole coupe from Rolls-Royce today, the Wraith, is often referenced as being the fastest and ‘sportiest’ creation to come out of Goodwood’s assembly lines. With 632 HP and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque from its 6.6-liter V12 engine, the 5,000 lbs car is nothing short of blazing quick. The 0-62 mph run is done in 4.6 seconds which is incredible for a car of this size.
The Wraith shares its underpinnings with the Ghost which is regarded as a limousine/sedan and served as inspiration for this rendering. The guys from TheSwageLine, who brought to life this four-door Wraith, claimed they used the body of the Ghost during the drawing process, to which they added the roof of a Wraith. Everything else stays intact delivering a beautiful design of a high-end luxury coupe.
Wearing the ‘Shadow’ nameplate might not be the best choice, but the people over in Goodwood might actually make this happen, as their plan to expand sales and appeal to a greater audience starts to take shape. One of the first steps in this direction was the introduction of the highly-acclaimed Dawn Convertible, yet another car that’s using the same platform as the Wraith and the Ghost.
Considering that the Dawn was just been named the “Luxury Car of the Year“, we reckon a four-door Wraith could also be a good idea.
