BMW Abu Dhabi Motors is once again taking the interwebs by storm with a new project. Based on the BMW i8 hybrid sportscar, their special model uses a large variety of aero parts to enhance the looks of the car, along with a very special exterior color.

The folks at the Middle Eastern dealership are touting that this the only BMW i8 in the world painted in Lava Yellow. The stunning paint job is paired with black accents for an even more exotic look.

Just like any respectable BMW sportscar, this i8 was adorned with front and side sill attachments made out of carbon-reinforced plastic (CFRP or carbon fiber), along with an oversized carbon fiber rear wing.

As most of the BMW i8 projects, the power output has been left untouched. BMW i8 uses a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a turbocharged three-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine and BMW eDrive technology in the form of an electric drive system. The 1.5-liter combustion engine develops 170 kW/231 hp and drives the rear wheels of the BMW i8, while the 96 kW/131 hp electric drive sends its power to the front wheels and allows an all-electric range of up to 35 kilometers (22 miles) and a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph).

Starting this summer, BMW UK will also offer BMW Individual colors for the BMW i8 hybrid sportscar. When BMW launched the i8 in 2014, the beautiful hybrid was only offered with a choice of three colors and no option to pay extra for a special paint job.

BMW’s new Individual color collection will be priced upwards of £5,495 in this UK where it will include Java Green, Speed Yellow, Solar Orange, Twilight Purple Pearl, Frozen Grey, Frozen Black, San Marino Blue and Grigio Telesto Pearl, among others.

A variety of finishes are available including non-metallic, metallic or Xirallic, which uses a mixture of synthetic mica or aluminum flakes to produce scintillating effects.
