We’ve seen some pretty pampered dogs in some very nice cars before. It’s actually not that strange of an idea for owners of expensive cars to want their little dogs to ride shotgun. However, it is quite unusual to see a dog driving its own little BMW.
This little Shitzu’s name is Luigi and his owner, Anisha Lakhani, author and freelance journalist, likes to drive Luigi around in his own remote-controlled BMW Z4. Lakhani and Luigi have been spotted all around Manhattan by multiple people and have almost become a bit of a celebrity couple, with people stopping to snap pictures or take video of Luigi rolling in his Bimmer.
Ever since FiveThirtyEight sportswriter, Neil Paine, spotted the pair last week and tweeted a photo of it, the tweet has gotten more than 18,250 retweets and 28,100 likes. They’ve since been tweeted and put on Instagram far more than Lakhani had expected.

Lakhani has even been been interviewed by the New York Post about her dog’s RC BMW. “My little Luigi has always been an Upper East Side high-roller, and nothing could be more fitting for him than a Beemer,” So the duo have garnered quite a bit of fame.
Admittedly, it is pretty entertaining to see the little dog, seemingly, driving a white BMW Z4. Because Lakhani controls it remotely, it looks pretty funny. Plus, doesn’t everyone deserve to drive a BMW at least once in their life, even dogs?
