When it comes to classic BMWs prices tend to go up instead of down. As time goes by, highly appreciated models become collectables and they can actually turn into great investments, as was the case of the E30 M3. Other models often follow the same path, but not with the same results. If you’re in the market for a classic sports sedan, this ALPINA B9 might be just what you’ve been looking for.

Built atop a 1988 E28 535i model, this isn’t an original product of ALPINA. As the seller puts it, it was inspired by the German tuner’s creation and put together by Manofied Racing. However, it definitely looks the part and judging by the amount of work that went into it, the asking price of $25,000 doesn’t seem a lot.

On the outside you’ll notice the factory ALPINA white paint along with Euro bumpers and spoiler (front and back) as well as the trademark blue and green stripes. The wheels are also original ALPINA measuring 17×8.5 inches up front and 17×9.5 inches in the back, wrapped in 235/40/17 and 255/40/17 tires.

Inside the cabin you’ll notice that everything is just as ALPINA wanted back in the 1980s. The cloth seats, steering wheel and even instrument cluster (in kilometers, with the ALPINA logo) all hail from Germany and are exactly as the car would’ve originally been fitted with.

Under the hood you’ll find a 3.5-liter inline 6-cylinder engine that was heavily tuned as well, with stainless steel valves, titanium retainers, dual valve springs, race headers and a custom exhaust among many others. The gearbox is a 5-speed manual Getrag unit with an aluminum flywheel and race clutch kit connected to a 3.73 differential.

The brakes came off a BMW 7 Series while the suspension is comprised of a variety of parts from various manufacturers. The control arms came from an M5, while all bushings are now urethane made as well as the transmission and engine mounts.

Such cars, usually go for a lot more, be it on eBay or any other platform. At this price range, it’s too good of a deal to pass on. If you end up buying it, we’d love to hear all about it!
