The guys from CarThrottle wanted to breed some cars and see what they look like if they had a baby. They chose 12 cars in total and mixing them together gave birth to peculiar-looking hybrids that aren’t exactly dreamy. The mashup of elements from the new Audi R8 and the BMW M4 definitely takes the cake. The base of the resulting offspring is made of the four-ringed supercar with a dash of Bavarian elements from its less powerful mate. The front bumper, wheels and, of course, kidney grilles up front come from the M car.
Next up is the mixing of a BMW i8 and Maserati Gran Turismo that’s as peculiar as it gets. The i8 body was kept almost unchanged, while the Maserati contributed with a set of headlights, the entire front bumper and the wheels. While it’s not the ugliest thing we’ve seen, we wouldn’t deem it pretty if our life depended on it.
Last but not least, we have an interesting combination of a BMW E36 M3 with a Mazda Miata. In this case also, the dominant genes seem to come from Bavaria, with the face being borrowed from the prettier MX-5. It’s an interesting mix, I’ll give them that.
In real life, BMW is currently working with Toyota to bring out hydrogen-powered cars in the near future, but the design will be specific to the brand, rather than an offspring of the two.
