One of the main reasons why consumers love naturally aspirated engines over turbocharged units is the distinctive sound note which matches the power delivery. When the new F80 M3 came out, the exhaust sound was at the top of list of shortcomings and many owners resorted to aftermarket units to supply the much needed growl. Others have decided to simply hold onto their V8-powered E92 M3s.
This generation BMW E92 M3 is powered by a naturally aspirated V8 and it’s the only M3 that revs to an insane 8,300 rpm. Its S65 V8 was named International Engine Of The Year from 2008-2012 in the 3.0 – 4.0 liter category. Performance wise, the E92 M3 is a monster on track and on the road, some magazine tests show 0 to 60 times of 3.9 seconds for the DCT-equipped models.
Yet the owner of this E92 M3 decided that a sound update wouldn’t be such a bad thing. The German maker of exhaust systems – Eisenmann – delivers some of the loudest and sportiest custom exhaust systems that one can buy. And the video below comes to prove just that.
